The National Media Museum, Bradford, West Yorkshire. Pictured is an image projected by the projector, unearthed at the museum, and which showed the earliest colour moving pictures ever made. The films put through it were made by English photographer and inventor Edward Turner using a process he patented with his financial backer Frederick Lee in 1899. Experts at the museum have dated the films to 1901/02. The colour projection was made by the film being projected through three colour filters (red, green and blue) on the projector itself. The items go on display today.
PICTURE COPIED ON THURSDAY 6 SEPTEMBER 2012
